Autism and a Chiropractor

Can a chiropractor cure autism?  No.  Can a chiropractor establish functional abilities that are limited with someone who suffers from autism? Yes.  With autism being a major issue the major concern that many people realize is the nerve system.  The nerve system is what a chiropractor checks and if necessary adjusts!  Individuals with autism sometimes have behavioral problems, social issues, sensory issues, attention issues, and many more.  Individuals also exhibit problems with their digestive system as well.  A solid majority of our immune system is incorporated into our digestive system.  Who controls our immune system?  That’s right…your nerve system!  If your nerve system becomes compromised at a young age then your overall function is lowered.  The first and major physical trauma that we all experience in life is birth.  If you begin life and sustain damage to your nerve system then your development can be altered as well.  Issues such as digestive problems, sensory issues, behavioral problems, etc etc are signs and symptoms that your nerve system gives you.  You have to respond to these signs and symptoms and realize what the actual cause is.

Many parents start to chase symptoms around and around and only to find little success and become extremely frustrated.  A spinal subluxation (what a chiropractor finds and corrects) means that your child’s nerve system is dysfunctional.  If their nerve system is dysfunctional they are over-working!  Imagine over-working and not getting pain for it!  Not fun!  If your bodies nerve system is over-working signs and symptoms of dysfunction appear : behavioral problems, sensory issues, hyperactivity, digestive issues, etc etc.  A chiropractor is a nerve system specialist….that’s it!   In our office and many like our’s we check and if necessary adjust minute old babies and continue their care to make sure they are growing to their full potential with a clear nerve system.  How many times does my child need to see a chiropractor?  Depending on the severity of the issues one adjustment builds on the next!  That is why it is important to see a chiropractor and begin care so the waiting game doesn’t happen.  Individuals with autism will begin to respond to care when their nerve system is clear and functioning the way it was supposed to be.   A chiropractor has a message for all.  Having your child checked for possible subluxations by a chiropractor ensures that addressing the cause is happening and not chasing around symptoms.
