What can we gather from “The Three Little Pigs” fable that we were taught at a very young age? Implementing a fable into our lives allows for a learning experience. Learn from history and what you have been taught since the beginning. With the growing ‘concern’ of the Coronavirus eating away at every news media, take a step back and reflect on the importance and adaptability that the human body has when hard work is implemented on a daily routine.

When building and sustaining your immune system do not settle for the ‘instant’ gratification or the quick fix that we have been led to believe works. The first two little pigs underestimate the time and hard work it takes to build a strong foundation to keep them well and protected. The other pig as we know invested more TIME and energy on something that lasts. Understand that the body is protected when you take the time to do things right..

How do you sustain your immune system?

1.    Get your spine checked by a Chiropractor. Chiropractic research performed by Dr. Ronald Pero, Ph.D., chief of cancer prevention research at New York’s Preventive Medicine Institute measured the immune systems of people under chiropractic care as compared to those in the general population and those with cancer and other serious diseases. His initial three-year study was comprised of 107 individuals who had been under chiropractic care for five years or more. The chiropractic patients were found to have a 200% greater immune competence than those people who had not received chiropractic care, and they had 400% greater immune competence than those people with cancer and other serious diseases. The immune system’s superiority of those under chiropractic care did not appear to diminish with age.

2.  Get adequate rest to sustain your bodies daily routine that we love!

3.  Don’t stop exercising.

4.  Wash your hands. For real it’s that simple, wash your hands.

5.   Being consistent and diligent with your diet.

6.  Create positive thoughts or be a positive thought. By creating positive thoughts and being around positive people you will decrease the bodies ability to produce stress hormones which will breed dis-ease and compromise your immune system. Positive like a proton.

Sustaining your immune system is a tough job. This is why you should get your spine checked regularly. If you think being well is expensive, what is the price for disease/sickness care? Time has and always will perpetuate those methods which better serve mankind. Hit the sweet spot and sustain your immune system by being consistent.

The Immune System Vs The Flu

That time of the year is already upon us as we get ready for the upcoming holidays.  When we get to challenge our immune system and see how our body handles the constant bombardment of The Flu!  Remember the flu is not an actual season, it can happen or occur at any time of the year (for the sake of this blog we will keep it intact that it’s an actual season).  The immune system regulates and controls a vast array of organs, tissues, glands, and cells to make up what we know as the immune system.  We often overlook the immune system and only recognize its inabilities when we become sick.  The immune system is constantly running, thriving, and upgrading every single day.  Your body is constantly exposed to new pathogens (invaders to the body) and it’s the immune systems responsibility on how you perceive and interpret this data.  When The Flu strikes your body, you begin to have signs and symptoms.

Signs and symptoms that your immune system is compromised from the flu are far from in between.  You could feel sluggish, run down, develop a cough, sneezing, fever, chest congestion, diarrhea, etc.  The flu is not just one symptom that your body shows, but rather a bunch of signs and symptoms put together.  When your immune system is compromised and you develop a sign and symptom your body should fight and defend itself for 1-2 days and then restore normal function.  You should not be sick for weeks at a time or longer than 3 days, if this is the case then your body is taking a little longer than expected.  Why would that be the case?  Possibly due to a dysfunctional nerve system leading to an unhealthy immune system!  What if you are constantly getting sick over and over again? Again, possibly due to a dysfunctional nerve system leading to an unhealthy immune system!

Subluxations occur within the spine which create a central nerve system DYSFUNCTION.  Subluxations are what chiropractors are trained to find and adjust.  Imagine a subluxation as being a downed power line, it’s a dangerous situation to be in. Power is still being transmitted but is not sending and receiving the proper information.  A subluxation still allows the nerve to send messages, but not too its full potential nor to the right amount.  This in time will lead to a depressed immunity which inhibits your true potential on how you respond to the flu or any pathogen for that matter.  Your nerve system regulates and controls all other systems within the body.  The immune system is not overlooked, if at the first sign of the flu you jump to use medication you are losing the fight.  By just masking signs and symptoms with medication you never realize the potential that your immune system can have.  Proper health begins with a healthy functioning nerve system.  Get your nerves checked to allow you to fight the healthy battle.

What is a healthy immune system?  Definition of the immune system: Is the body’s defense against infectious organisms and other invaders. Through a series of steps called the immune response.  A healthy immune system means that your body is operating to its fullest potential, regardless of the obstacles put in its way.  On the rise in our society are countless pathologies associated with auto-immune disorders or just sickness all together.  In order for sickness to occur your immune system has to be compromised along the way.  “It is apparent that a continuous concerted monitoring of immune system activities, and responding by the somatosensory and automatic nervous systems, is important to maintain HEALTH – and that a balance of afferent and efferent neuronal activity must be maintained to avoid pathology” (CELL).  To sum up the statement: a well-balanced nerve system is essential to provide specific actions/health within ones immune system.

A healthy immune system is balanced with a healthy diet, regular exercise and…of course a healthy functional nerve system supplying the cells of the immune system.  The cellular level, your body is maintained and operates down to the cellular level.  The body functions properly only because the cells constantly communicate with each other.  Your immune system, every day, is regulating and improving cells to adequately function and maintain life.  Your immune system’s ability to coordinate proper cells is directly correlated with how your nerve system functions and operates.  The nerve system is your body’s master controller, everything and I mean EVERYTHING that your body does is directly controlled by your nerve system.
