Looking For The Quick Fix From Out Of Pain?

Ever hear of that magic adjustment that your friend received and was out of pain for years?  10 out of 10 the adjustment is going to deliver healing capabilities.  As long as the adjustment was specific and direct there is no other option for the body but to heal.  The problem with this dilemma is, the education and doctors report that needs to be delivered.  Truth be told there is really no such thing as a true “quick fix.”  Many chiropractic patients only come to get out of pain.  While a noble cause and gesture from your chiropractor, you need to understand what our (chiropractor) true purpose really is.

What is your definition of a healthy body?  Is it someone that works-out every day?  Is it someone that eats smoothies twice a day?  What is considered healthy for one person is the complete opposite for the other.  Imagine you are constantly getting sick.  Obliviously if you are ‘getting’ sick over and over again your body is not responding to a stressor.  Your body is failing to adapt.

Enter the word vomit, also known as: puking, puke, retch, spew, heave, and gag.  Take for instance if I puke right now as I am writing this, is that a good thing or a bad thing?  The correct answer is GOOD.  My body is trying to coordinate a defense for some reason that my body is not properly functioning in correct harmony.  The body is trying to adapt .  Now, give or take some time.  Roughly a couple days the puking needs to stop.  The body should have healed from the forces that went against it.  If the puking continues for weeks and then months thus we just regard it as normal in our society.

Well, now that we have some attention let’s break down understanding pain & punching walls.  First understanding pain and what it is and what it is not.  Pain is subjective.  What one person feels is completely different than somebody else.  Females have a higher pain threshold than males.  Yes, that is true.  Females ability to cope with pain is actually a bad thing.  Why?  Perceiving that once pain is gone you are healthy is the BIGGEST flaw.  Yes, chiropractors can get you out of pain.  Yes, it does not mean you are better.  Understand why.

Understanding Pain By Punching A Wall

Now, don’t try this at home.  Once you punch a wall your body should want to do two things (besides yelling).  The reason we want to do these two things is because it allows adrenaline and endorphin’s to finally kick on.  These are not in any particular order.  The goal of these two actions is to relieve yourself of pain.

  1. Punch a wall and you will want to immediately start shaking the hand as fast as possible.  Reason being to block mechanoreceptors (sensation feeling computers) from being transmitted that you just punched a wall.
  2. Punch a wall and you will want to immediately put your other hand over your knuckles.  Reason being to block and dampen the mechanoreceptors from being able to transmit pin point accuracy of pain.

Both of these tactics work try by block the pain messages by incorporating or limiting proprioception…movement.
