Structure Over Posture

The presence of good posture is a missing trait among the growing populas today that often begins at a very young age. We can blame technology, the newest gizmos or maybe just a lack of knowledge. True to form with our society, anything that is often hard to do or misunderstood is saturated with quick fixes, gadgets, or misleading objects that are for sale to “fix your posture.” Instead of looking for the outward source, why not pay attention to what’s  inside?

Structure. The spinal column at an early age forms its outlook for life beginning with our “tummy time” and then into our crawling stages. At this time the three distinct curvatures of the spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar) begin to take shape, enabling  our body to be able to withstand the constant battle of gravity with biomechanical sound curvatures in the spine. The rest of the body takes shape as a result of the spinal column.

Typically when you encounter a daily event, activity, or engage in repetitive behavior over and over again, the spinal column is unable to properly adapt and overcome a spinal subluxation (misalignment within the spinal column creating nerve interference.) This ensues over time. This subluxation will create chaos in the musculoskeletal system, creating an overproduction of muscle imbalances for years.

The subluxation will create inadquecies in proper muscle firing, thus leading to a constant battle with improper posture. Over time when a subluxation is left uncorrected, the structure of the spine begins to change. This is something you can actually see and is called improper posture. The structure of the spinal column is hidden from plaint sight, yet will appear in the posture that we exhibit in our daily lives.

Maintaining good posture is a important. Why not address the reason posture is even a talking point first by focusing on your spinal column which protects the most important system in the human body, the central nerve system (CNS). With proper coordination to the CNS, the particular system—the musculoskeletal system—which is often left to blame for “bad posture,” begins to work effortlessly and with normal tone to make sure your “butt is out, back straight, and chin out” all the time.

Organization is ideal for your life, work, family and household . But it is also important for you.  The body is crated to be organized in a healthy manner. Without this proper organization the body is unable to coordinate and adapt to the loads it is placed under. When we begin to de-clutter the house it is realized that we are doing this to allow proper function of the household – which comes with organization. Same thing with our bodies. Sure it’s great to”feel and look” good, but how about functioning BETTER?!!!

Let us establish that health exists from within the body first and foremost. The central nerve system (CNS) being all there is to sustain all other systems of your body. When we neglect our CNS and accumulate health problems in our life the fast-food mentality of “now” does not fix what has been done. Years of abuse, denial, bad advice and illnesses accumulate until one can no longer recognize the healthy state the body used to be in.

The principle of time – There is no process that does not require time. When you are on the road to recovery understand that it is a road for miles to come. It’s actually better that way. Giving your body the ample time to heal the tissue cells that have become impacted allows your body to re-organize and adapt for future stressors. Instead of sweeping debris under the rug, why not actually take the time to clean it up correctly and go after the actual causes of bad health. And remember time can either be a friend or an enemy. If we do the right things most of the time we will reap the benefits. Contrary, we will have to deal will the effects!

Your body is a temple and when that temple begins to accumulate health problems, organization is key. Health problems are like clutter in your house and you begin to horde them over and over again missing the reality that accumulation of bad habits can happen just like good habits. When organization is lost so goes your health.

By the time many people are ready to take control of their CNS they understand that one adjustment does not suffice. Subluxations (misalignments within the spinal column create dis-coordination creating instability within your health). Cleaning the house the natural way takes time to allow your body to adapt and heal form subluxations that have reorganized matter in a bad way. In this office we are Subluxation based Chiropractic care. We do not perform this because it is the doctrine in Chiropractic care. We do this because it is what Chiropractic care is. In short we are to detect and correct vertebral subluxtions by hand. Chiropractic’s definition itself was developed by Reverend Samuel H. Weed which means “done by hand”.

Some people think that Chiropractic is supplement use, vitamins, physical therapy, lasers, or other forms of modalities that are not congruent with what Chiropractic actually is. Many will attempt to “add” or limit what Chiropractic care really is. Fortunately the Subluxation model of established Chiropractic care has not been proven wrong. Genuinely speaking, Chiropractic care is working without having to “add” more.

In this office we utilize the Gonstead System Of Chiropractic which incorporates full spinal analysis to detect and corrected vertebral subluxations within the spinal column, using our tools of choice…our hands. X-ray analysis is utilized to access each spine differently ensuring your care is specific to you and, more importantly, warranted for a correction. We understand that subluxations are created by the body’s inability to adapt to the loads (stress) under which you place it. The effects of subluxations:

  • altered metabolism/physiology

Subluxation…It’s Like Bad Wi-Fi

Ever have bad Wi-Fi? We have come along way with technology advances, and it has almost become second nature that we should ALWAYS have great Wi-Fi service, wherever we go. Yet, the fact remains that all too often we get stuck with bad Wi-Fi connections in our daily routine. With a bad connection to our Wi-Fi, we are unable to perform our tasks at that accelerated and accurate rate that we are used to performing at. Be honest, we love to have spot on service and use our connection at lightning speed. A bad connection is not a full disconnection: it can still get the job done, it’s just not productive to be around.

The brain-body connection is fundamental in establishing and maintaining your overall health and well-being. Without this proper connection, your health would cease to exist. The central nerve systems (brain, spinal cord) sole responsibility is to make all the other systems in the body, and to regulate their function on a day to day basis. Sound important?

A subluxation (misalignment within the spinal column, creating interference on a single nerve) exists when our body is unable to adapt to the loads of stress that we acquire regularly. When a subluxation exists for a period of time uncorrected, it automatically disconnects the brain-bodies potential to be optimal. Fortunately, it’s not a full disconnect. It’s like having bad Wi-Fi. The connection is weakened and messages still come and go, just not in the ideal state that we are used to performing.

Regular spinal check-ups by your Chiropractor examine the spine to find subluxations, adjusting if necessary. In doing so allows the brain-body connection to become optimal and enables your body to heal from the disconnection that was established.
