Subluxation…It’s Like Bad Wi-Fi

By | Benefits of Chiropractic, chiropractic adjustment, Chiropractic Myths, immune system | No Comments

Ever have bad Wi-Fi? We have come along way with technology advances, and it has almost become second nature that we should ALWAYS have great Wi-Fi service, wherever we go. Yet, the fact remains that all too often we get stuck with bad Wi-Fi connections in our daily routine. With a bad connection to our Wi-Fi, we are unable to perform our tasks at that accelerated and accurate rate that we are used to performing at. Be honest, we love to have spot on service and use our connection at lightning speed. A bad connection is not a full disconnection: it can still get the job done, it’s just not productive to be around.

The brain-body connection is fundamental in establishing and maintaining your overall health and well-being. Without this proper connection, your health would cease to exist. The central nerve systems (brain, spinal cord) sole responsibility is to make all the other systems in the body, and to regulate their function on a day to day basis. Sound important?

A subluxation (misalignment within the spinal column, creating interference on a single nerve) exists when our body is unable to adapt to the loads of stress that we acquire regularly. When a subluxation exists for a period of time uncorrected, it automatically disconnects the brain-bodies potential to be optimal. Fortunately, it’s not a full disconnect. It’s like having bad Wi-Fi. The connection is weakened and messages still come and go, just not in the ideal state that we are used to performing.

Regular spinal check-ups by your Chiropractor examine the spine to find subluxations, adjusting if necessary. In doing so allows the brain-body connection to become optimal and enables your body to heal from the disconnection that was established. You can replace a bad wireless router; you cannot replace your central nerve system. Don’t settle for suppressing a symptom. Get to the cause of the problem.

Stop The Insanity…Look For The Cause

Stop the insanity. Expecting the same results over and over again is not an ideal situation to be in. When it comes to your health, there will always be the latest and greatest health trend to emerge and last for a short while. Why? Often times, the things that are the hardest and yet simplest to perform, are overlooked by public interest growing a new trend. When it comes to your health, the foundation starts and ends with the central nerve system.

A teacher and a student were walking along a riverbank talking about life. When both of them noticed someone in the river drowning. The student immediately jumped in to save the drowning individual and pull them to safety. As the teacher and student continued their walk they noticed another person in the river drowning, once again the student jumps in to save the person and pull them to safety. As they continued their walk this event continued to happen and finally the teacher kept walking to find the cause. The teacher, instead of saving the drowning individuals, searched for the cause and found that these people were jumping off a bridge.

This is a simple story to gain insight on addressing the cause instead of performing the same actions over and over with little to no results. Rescuing drowning people is a noble quest, yet addressing the cause and educating before they jump is even more noteworthy.

Everyone should know something about the spine which protects your central nerve system. That knowledge would give all people a much better understanding of one of the marvels of the body. It would enable each individual to reason the “how and why” of ill health. When it is understood that every tissue cell, and every organ of the body is connected to and controlled by the central nerve system, then one can more readily grasp the importance of maintaining a spine free of dysfunction.

Let Your Body Be Your Guide…Listen

Let your body be your guide to health. We cannot stress the importance of listening to your body and what it tells you. Often times we become saturated in everyday activities that we sometimes neglect the basic necessities of life. Our body attempts to tell us warning signs that something is amiss. Take drinking water for example. You know you are supposed to do it, its good for you, and your body needs it. When we become dehydrated, we did not give our body an adequate supply, and we become aware. The brain signals a response and you NEED to listen.

Often times the body is not as assertive as giving you messages that something is wrong. When your body sends messages that something is amiss it will develop over time. Time is the key. The Principle Of Time – There is no process that does not require time. This is why we apply prevention in our life with regular Chiropractic check-ups to ensure optimal function and eliminate any interference between the brain and body.

Regular Chiropractic check-ups ensure that your body is free of any interference that occurs within the central nerve system. Subluxations (misalignment’s within the spinal column placing undo stress upon a single nerve) exist within the spinal column pain FREE. Thats right! Subluxations are silent in nature. They do not fully manifest into painful situations until years of spinal neglect.

The first awareness that your body will tell your innate brain is through symptoms. Symptoms will be your first recognition that something is amiss within the central nerve system: allergies, lack of energy, chronic sickness, ear infections, etc etc. These are warning signs that your nerve system is not adequately adapting to an interference. A subluxation is a MAJOR interference that uses millions of conductive tissue by its existence in a negative manner. To remove subluxations is to enable your body to be at its peak potential.

Correct Digestion Issues

Digestion issues unfortunately, in our society, are becoming the new “norm.” It’s almost to the point that if you do not have any digestive issues you are considered “weird”. Digestion, aka gut, is an important topic of concern due to the fact that it is known as the second brain. The rational and reasoning behind this is because approximately 70% of the immune system is housed in the gut.

A healthy gut starts at birth. Normal vaginal deliveries help inoculate the newborn with an overabundance of microbes. This begins the learning process of the immune system. To keep the learning process clear and functioning begins with working on the upper cervical neck region. Often people hear of the “Brain Gut Connection” phrase passed around when talking about digestive issues. This is due to the fact that the upper cervical nerves control, regulate, and made the gut.

A subluxation (misalignment in the spinal column) places undo stress upon a single nerve fiber, thus creating a chemical cascade of events known as dis-ease. Which means that literally your body is not at “ease.” What occurs first will be dysfunctional gut problems, better known as symptoms. What have we been told to do when symptoms occur…suppress them with drugs. Suppressing a symptom never corrects the cause and never allows the body to heal. Looking to the spine first and foremost by correcting subluxations will enable the brain – body connection to be fully established.

Don’t treat symptoms. Chiropractic can get your digestive system working by focusing on the cause. Research, published in the November 2002 issue of the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research (JVSR) demonstrates that chiropractic care may be effective in helping patients with allergies and Crohn’s Disease. What’s considered an allergy in the gut? A chronic hypersensitivity of an over-stimulated immune response. The response coming from the brain via a nerve to the tissue cells of the gut. Once again, the focus of chiropractic care is to remove any physiological blocks to the proper expression of the body’s innate wisdom.

The Role Of Chiropractic In Your Life

The Role Of Chiropractic In Your Life

What is the role of Chiropractic in your life?  The primary focus of Chiropractic is to simply remove those things that interfere with the body’s natural ability to heal.  Chiropractic is a science, art and philosophy about the inner workings of the human body.  By understanding how the spine and central nervous system is connected, the scene is set for exploring how dysfunction within the spine can lead to impaired health and well-being.

The key focus of Chiropractic study is to detect and correct vertebral subluxations.  In turn this will restore the healthy function of the spine and nerve system.  Remove the vertebral subluxation in order for your body to better be able to adapt and correctly function.  When a vertebral subluxation exists it will create tension and stress on the spinal nerve due to the strain of the disc in between the vertebrae.  The effects of the displacement protrudes the disc and creates stress on the spinal nerve.  Edema will create pressure on the nerve resulting in one of two things happening, stimulation or inhibition.  As a direct result the cells, tissues, glands, and organs that the nerve supplies will either be stimulated or inhibited.

Everyone should have access to chiropractic care right from birth through to the day they pass away.  I believe a lot of suffering could be prevented if this was the case.  Changing our health care system is and will be at the top forefront of a healthier lifestyle for all. There are lots of people who could stand to benefit from learning how to take better care of themselves. We know the function of the spine impacts our brain’s ability to interpret other things that are going on in and around us, an internal reality.  Effective health care begins with an accurate inner reality.  Adjusting the spine to restore optimal spinal function, actually changes the way the brain functions.  Remove any source of irritation to the central nerve system by keeping your spine healthy and aligned.

Sustaining Your Immune System Through The Winter

Sustaining Your Immune System Through The Winter

Sustaining your immune system is imperative every part of the year.  There just so happens to be a big push and advertisement swing during the winter months in the northern hemisphere for several reasons.  The first reason is the most obvious yet often blurred due to the fact that buying the latest and greatest immune system “boosters” is a money maker.  Are people really trying to help you “boost” your immune system with the latest and greatest? Remember capitalism is the name of the game. Instead of the latest and greatest ways to boost your immune system, stick with what works and has worked for very  long long long long (you get my drift) period of time.

Who Do You Trust

Take, for instance, something off the shelf. Do you read labels of these claims, that your immune system will become “75% better after consumption”, and yet it’s  sold at the local gas station? Do you trust that everything is safe because it wouldn’t be sold if it wasn’t? This responsibility of making sure something is safe to consume comes down to the hands of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).  According to the 2003 report of the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Health and Human Services, a survey of CDER reviewers revealed that 66% lacked confidence in the FDA’s safety monitoring of marketed prescription drugs, and 18% had felt pressure to approve a drug despite reservations about its quality, efficacy, or safety.

David Graham, Associate Director of the FDA’s Office of Drug Safety stated, “The FDA is inherently biased in favor of the pharmaceutical industry. It views industry as its client, whose interests it must represent, it views its primary mission as approving as many drugs as it can regardless of whether the drugs are safe or needed.”, recorded in an interview that appeared in Fraud Magazine (September/October 2005 issue).

Normam Shealy, MD, PhD, International Institute of Holistic Medicine, MO:  “Interestingly, the ‘PharmacoMafia’ has to find evidence of only 5% above average placebo of 35% to claim a drug is ‘effective.’  No drug is 100% effective and virtually all produce complications called side effects. The bottom line is: What does effective mean? What does evidence – or science – based mean?”

You’ve Got To Nourish To Flourish

You’ve got to nourish the inside of the body to take care of the outside.  Sustaining the immune system is a YEAR round project. The immune system does choose to take days off and begin functioning during the winter months.  The central nervous system plays a major role in immune function. Do whatever you can to keep your immune system working properly by removing any source of irritation and keeping your spine healthy and aligned. Nature needs no help, just no interference – B.J.
