Chiropractic vs ADHD

Chiropractic vs ADHD

Chiropractic does not have medicine nor does it treat ADHD.  Chiropractic does not use a class II narcotic drug called Ritalin to suppress our children’s signs and symptoms.  When our children are distracted by their surroundings, have an inability to concentrate, and inattentive to possibly name a few of signs as parents we enter protection mode for our children.    We begin to attack their diet and look for food insensitivity, reactions, anything that might develop occurrences or flareups.  While monitoring the diet is a crucial natural step in the right direction, more can be done.  Chiropractic offers a non-drug and non-invasive method that targets the underlying problems and not just the symptoms.  When signs and symptoms of motor imbalance are apparent, something is working harder than it should be and something else is not working.  There has to be a controlled balance in order for proper development.  If our children’s motor development is in influx and motor activity is hyperactive, people begin to think ADHD.  Chiropractic does not treat nor cure, it allows your child suffering from ADHD to heal from within…naturally.

Let us take a look at chiropractic real quick for a re-cap.  Chiropractic deals specifically with the nerve system which controls all other systems.  Chiropractors check your nerve system and perform specific chiropractic adjustments to spinal vertebrae that become misaligned (subluxated) and cause dysfunction in your body, by acting (pressure) upon our nerves.  Chiropractic allows your children’s communication to run the way it should!  If the transmission is blocked from the brain to our muscles, GI system, respiratory, etc etc, then communication will be in influx causing dysfunction.  If your child is suffering from symptoms associated with ADHD then the time to act is now.  Chiropractic deals with the nerve system naturally.  Chiropractors are trained to identify neurological deficits and symptoms and overcome with healing from within.  No drugs, no dope, just letting the body heal the way it was designed.  Having your child’s nerve system checked to remove interference is something only chiropractic deals with.  Get checked!

Autism and a Chiropractor

Autism and a Chiropractor

Can a chiropractor cure autism?  No.  Can a chiropractor establish functional abilities that are limited with someone who suffers from autism? Yes.  With autism being a major issue the major concern that many people realize is the nerve system.  The nerve system is what a chiropractor checks and if necessary adjusts!  Individuals with autism sometimes have behavioral problems, social issues, sensory issues, attention issues, and many more.  Individuals also exhibit problems with their digestive system as well.  A solid majority of our immune system is incorporated into our digestive system.  Who controls our immune system?  That’s right…your nerve system!  If your nerve system becomes compromised at a young age then your overall function is lowered.  The first and major physical trauma that we all experience in life is birth.  If you begin life and sustain damage to your nerve system then your development can be altered as well.  Issues such as digestive problems, sensory issues, behavioral problems, etc etc are signs and symptoms that your nerve system gives you.  You have to respond to these signs and symptoms and realize what the actual cause is.

Many parents start to chase symptoms around and around and only to find little success and become extremely frustrated.  A spinal subluxation (what a chiropractor finds and corrects) means that your child’s nerve system is dysfunctional.  If their nerve system is dysfunctional they are over-working!  Imagine over-working and not getting pain for it!  Not fun!  If your bodies nerve system is over-working signs and symptoms of dysfunction appear : behavioral problems, sensory issues, hyperactivity, digestive issues, etc etc.  A chiropractor is a nerve system specialist….that’s it!   In our office and many like our’s we check and if necessary adjust minute old babies and continue their care to make sure they are growing to their full potential with a clear nerve system.  How many times does my child need to see a chiropractor?  Depending on the severity of the issues one adjustment builds on the next!  That is why it is important to see a chiropractor and begin care so the waiting game doesn’t happen.  Individuals with autism will begin to respond to care when their nerve system is clear and functioning the way it was supposed to be.   A chiropractor has a message for all.  Having your child checked for possible subluxations by a chiropractor ensures that addressing the cause is happening and not chasing around symptoms.

Can Chiropractic Help With Sleep Apnea

Can chiropractic really help with sleep apnea?  Sleep apnea is a condition in which the airways become constricted during our sleeping times.  Individuals who suffer from sleep apnea will often wake themselves up or those who are sleeping nearby (not fun).  Individuals will try alternative ways to help with their sleep, wear masks, sleep in a different bed, try dope…..still with the same effects though.  The reason still being that the airways are closing.  Well, lets take a step back and see what chiropractic can do again.  Chiropractors are nerve system specialists.  In our office we utilize the Gonstead system which is personalized, specific care to each individual.  We utilize x-rays to eliminate guessing and to see the structure of your spinal column.  Chiropractic and nerves.  Not chiropractic and low back pain!  This is amazing!  So, your nerve system controls everything you do?  Yes.  Does it control my respiratory system?  Yes!  If I am suffering from  a condition which my respiratory system is failing should I get checked for a possible vertebral subluxation?  Wait!  What is a vertebral subluxation?  A vertebral subluxation is when one or more vertebral bones acts (pressure) upon our nerves causing signs and symptoms to appear in our daily lives.  So, then yes you should get checked!

Chiropractic allows your body to restore normal function.  No devices, no cutting, and no dope.  Probably a good thing to have your nerves checked and realize what chiropractic can offer you and your family.

A study published on Feb. 3, 2014, in the scientific periodical, the Annals of Vertebral Subluxation Research, documents the case of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) being resolved with chiropractic care.

The authors of the study note that symptoms of OSA can include excessive daytime sleepiness, unrefreshing sleep, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, and an overall decrease in quality of life due to a lack of quality sleep,. They report that, as of 1997, the prevalence of OSA in the United States was between 3-7% of the population.

In this case, a 34-year-old male went to the chiropractor in hopes of receiving help for his sleep apnea. He suffered with the symptoms of OSA for many years before finally being diagnosed five years earlier with the condition by his MD.   His symptoms included daytime drowsiness, lack of energy, loud snoring, and difficulty breathing while he slept at night.  Based on the prescription of this MD, the man had been using a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine every night for the past three years.

A chiropractic examination was performed specifically looking for vertebral subluxations that were causing nerve system interference that could be affecting the man’s breathing mechanisms. The examination consisted of palpation, postural analysis, spinal range of motion, surface electromyography (SEMG), and spinal x-ray imaging.

The examination results indicated the presence of subluxations. The neck x-rays showed a reversal of the neck curvature and subluxation degeneration, indicating significant amount of nerve system interference. Based on the positive findings of subluxation, a specific course of chiropractic corrective care was started.

A three month evaluation showed an improvement in the man’s neck curvature. The study authors reported that the man was no longer snoring and was experiencing an increase in energy. As a result, he was not experiencing daytime drowsiness. He was also able to sleep throughout the night and discontinue use of his CPAP machine. The man also showed a significant increase in his quality of life as he was able to discontinue his medications and was no longer experiencing anxiety or acid reflux.

Chiropractic Care For Vets

Chiropractic care for our champions…our Vets.  Why is chiropractic care for our Vets important?  Well, just imagine the tip of the iceberg and the physical and emotional strain that they go through with their regimented boot-camp.  Boot-camp just scratching the surface of their dedication and commitment.  Notice though how we said physical and emotional.  One of the two major factors out of three that bring people into a chiropractor are physical stress and emotional stress.  In order to allow our vets to heal and overcome their stress in their body, chiropractic can be involved and should be.  VA benefits include chiropractic care, so why wouldn’t you take full advantage of it.  A Vet receiving regular chiropractic care can experience reduced hospital admission, surgeries, and pharmaceutical costs.  Just some of the possibilities that we can offer to those who have served for us.  Our Vets have put their bodies and lives on the line for us, the least that we can do is offer to serve them in our communities with specific personalized chiropractic care.

Chiropractic care for Vets can be used to control health care costs and result in significant net savings in both indirect and direct costs.  Vets that are looking for options regarding their health need to consult a chiropractor.  Services delivered by doctors of chiropractic are part of the standard VA benefits and no VA facility can say “do not provide” these essential health benefits.  Chiropractic care for Vets is essential.  Vets reliance upon medications results in a high probability of developing additional health problems and or even developing life threatening/ending situations.  Chiropractic is drug free, surgery free, dope free, and whatever free.  Chiropractic allows our Vets to heal the way their body intended without any foreign intervention.  One of the biggest factors that Vets are suffering from is lower back pain, plain and simple.  Chiropractic and low back pain do go together, however a Vet just coming to the chiropractor for low back pain is like robbing a bank and just taking the pens.  Utilize chiropractic the way it was intended.  Intended to heal the sick and keep the healthy…healthy!

Chiropractic and Epilepsy

Chiropractic and Epilepsy

Does chiropractic and epilepsy have a common connection?  Epilepsy and any kind of seizure is characterized by being a neurological problem.  Chiropractic is not just low back pain.  Chiropractors are nerve system specialists that deal with how your nerves function collectively as a unit.  Epilepsy and seizures occur when abnormal firing is triggered in the brain from your neurons.  Most people have several seconds or minutes before they realize they are going to experience an “episode.”  With no known causes for these individuals we are stuck with giving them medication to cover up symptoms and inhibit communication all together, which means other things in your body begin to become affected as well.  Anticonvulsive medication might in fact help some, but for a good majority they are still suffering.  Chiropractic and epilepsy is not a cure, it is a way to manage the frequency and severity naturally.  Naturally allows your body to become stronger and without relying on a crutch for support all the time.

Chiropractic and epilepsy do have a common connection.  Your brain is designed to keep you functioning at your optimal potential.  Your brains sends messages to every part of your body, and in return your body sends messages back to your brain.  Chiropractic and epilepsy share a connection because the “connection” is what is lost when an “episode” occurs.  Your brains messages are guarded by your spinal bones. If a spinal subluxation (subluxation being what chiropractors find and adjust) occurs in your upper neck region then the connection is lost.  By adjusting the spinal subluxation and allowing your body to function to your potential, you then have a clear connection.  No drugs and no cutting of any sort is involved.  Chiropractic and epilepsy is a solid foundation for those suffering.  From the Journal Of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics, researchers looked at 17 children who had received unsuccessful management with anticonvulsive medications.  All 17 children began chiropractic care, 88% of the patients (15 out of 17) experienced significant reduction in the frequency and severity of their epileptic seizures.  Continued research is and will always be ongoing. True corrections that go unreported happen in chiropractic offices every day!  Chiropractic and epilepsy will always have a connection to allow you function the way you see fit.  Get checked.

The Many Faces Of Neck Pain

Neck pain is widely becoming a huge issue in our society.  Primarily the way people come into our office for neck pain is due to improper structure.  One of the worst things that we can do for our health is sitting down for a prolonged period of time.  Desk jobs and utilizing a computer for a prolonged period of time causes our structure to become compromised.  Not only is neck pain one of the issues that comes along from sitting for periods of time but just general soreness and stiffness.  We tend to discover our ability to generate poor posture at a very young age while sitting in school.  Then as we continue our schooling or begin a career most of those situations involve sitting down for hours throughout the day.  The actual neck pain does not show up until the end.  What we mean by this is that you will be involved in stiffness, limited range of motion, soreness, and the possibility of other signs and symptoms.  Then your neck pain will finally show up after some time.  Reason being is that your nerves only feel 10% of the sensation of pain.  Your nerves are designed to make sure you are functioning at your true potential.

If neck pain is present, then changes need to be made.  In our office we personalize your care based upon your x-ray and neurological findings.  Gonstead chiropractic allows us to be specific in the way we handle your care and function.  If you are sitting down for prolonged periods of time throughout the day chiropractic will allow your body to combat the poor posture.  Neck pain and chiropractic  do go hand in hand, however we are concerned with how you are functioning on a day to day basis!  Poor posture results in a cause and effect, the effect inevitably being neck pain.  We are talking about posture and neck pain because the significance that is plays in our lives.

Other instances that are recognizable with neck pain are sudden traumas and injuries that we sustain.  If you sustain an injury or trauma to your neck region the best thing for your will be to see a chiropractor.  Even though you might think your okay after a couple of days, the dysfunction is still there.  That is why when we are young and might be involved in a car accident our bodies are able to recover at a faster pace.  If you sustain an accident at a young age and think your “okay”, dysfunction will come later if gone uncorrected.  Specific chiropractic care is your answer if you live with neck pain, or any type of dysfunction in your body.  Have your nerves checked.
